“It starts with the message of the song and the vibe that I bring”.
The Koboe To The World Serie displays the creative minds that inhabit this beautiful world.
Meet Mubarak Amartey, an Amsterdam based afrobeats artist and Koboe (@amarteymusic).
Who are you?
My name is Amartey I’m an Afrobeats Artist from the Netherlands.
How does your background/roots influence your creative output?
Well I have Ghanaian roots, both my parents are from Ghana.
I was raised in an African household that also comes with the beauty of African music.
In my case that would be Hiplife/Highlife, Afrobeats.
What do you feel makes your work unique and truly your own?
What is the best part about creating art?
What is the most challenging part about being an artist?
I think that being lost in the sauce of your creating is the most challenging
part of being an artist. Sometimes you get carried away when you’re in the spotlight,
but you have to stay sane to survive.
What artists influence your work most?
A lot of artists but if I have to break it down, it would be the following artists:
R. Kelly, Michael Jackson, Usher, Amaakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Bisa Kdei,
T-Pain, Travis Scott
How do you see the future of your work/category of art?
